The word ‘Kavalkazhani’ strikes a chord for Triplicanites, those connected with Sri Parthasarathi swami temple .. ..only recently the centenary celebrations of Sri U.Ve. Kavalkazhani Thirumalai Vinjamoor Ananthacharyar swami, was celebrated.
The great day of Vaikunda Ekadasi where devotees
aspire to have darshan of Emperuman Sriman Narayana and pass through the
paramapada vasal has started very sadly.
This morning Sri Kavalkazhanai Vinjamoor Srinivasan, fondly Cheena – aged 56 collapsed and died in a few minutes on his way to hospital. He did get immediate medical assistance yet, he could not be saved. Indeed very shocking as so many of us were with him this morning and the cruel fate suddenly snatched him away young !
Cheena studied in Hindu High School, was part of every activity in Triplicane, a very cheerful person mingling with everyone and was a Senior photo professional with The Hindu for slightly more than couple of decades. He was a postgraduate in Sanskrit from the Vivekananda College (M.A. Sanskrit). After a brief stint in a Private company, he worked in Express Group of publications for a while and went to Doha, Qatar working for a short span.
He was very friendly with people and was part of many associations including Swami Manavalamamunigal Kainkarya Sabhai, Triplicane Brahmin Association, Srinivas YOungmens Association and more. He was actively involved in renovation and samprokshanam of Sri Peyalwar sannathi.
Through his profession he was well connected with higher level bureaucrats, politicians, cine actors and the like and would liaise with officials and help commoners of Triplicane.
He leaves behind his wife and two sons … and hundreds of friends of Triplicane. It is shocking and sad to even think that he is no more ! but fact is he passed away early this morning.
Life can be so short and can end so abruptly
shakes us badly. Tributes Cheena, not
the right age to die .. ..
