A Tamilnadu Rajasthan finals is on the
cards.
At Mumbai ,
TN have virtually closed the
match after making 220 for 4. It was
Murali Vijay’s first century of the season but it came at the right time. He is unbeaten on 103 as TN has an overall
lead of 422 on the final day. After
making 359, Mumbai were bowled out for 157 with Balaji (4) and Yo Mahesh (3)
being the chief wreckers. In fact TN
could have enforced follow-on, which they did not. Incidentally, the last time these teams played
in Mumbai, Vijay had scored an unbeaten 154, which, too, had come in the second
innings.
Elsewhere at Rohtak, the match was over
on the third day as Rituraj bowled Rajasthan to outright victory in a low
scoring match. Rajasthan were all out for 89 with Harshal
patel taking 8/34 but were restricted to 97 with Rituraj taking 7/45. In the second Rajasthan made 192 and chasing
184, Haryana were all out for 120 with Rituraj chipping with another 5 wicket
haul. That is Rajasthan’s entry into Ranji Trophy final for the second year
straight. Rituraj Singh, in only his
third first-class game, was the hero
with match tally of 12 for 82.
So it will be a second Cup – whoever wins
and will it be Tamil Nadu is what we are hoping for !
With regards – S.
Sampathkumar .
