Children are our future and inculcating good qualities in them and making them responsible citizens is the responsibility of the Society. SYMA all along has been striving betterment of society and imbibing discipline, commitment, mental strength, self-consciousness and other virtues. Child Fest is one such attempt aimed at imbibing in them the skill sets, confidence and more importantly competitiveness. Child Fest provides a competitive platform for showcasing talent in various fields.
Over
the years, this has become immensely popular with schools and with children, as
the numbers are growing multifold year after year. The fete is a two day affair
with individual participation in Drawing and Fancy Dress – the rest are
representation through schools. This year also the mega event is sponsored by
Gold winner and will be known as “Gold
Winner SYMA Child Fest 2011-2012”.
Initially when we started, we were conducting
Childfest during November commemorating Childrens day. The incessant monsoon rains proved to be
regular impediment which made us shift the event to January. This year we plan to
have it on the last two Sundays of January 2012 i.e., on 22nd and 29th.
Here is the programme list and SYMA cordially invites you all to attend.
For
ease of conduct, the Drawing competition will be held on 22nd Jan
2012 at The Hindu High School, 149
Big Street , Triplicane, Chennai 5. This is an individual event and students can
come directly to the Venue and register themselves. The rules are :
v
Schools can send any number of entries.
v
Direct entry at the Venue is
also permitted.
v
There is no topic up to 8th Std. Students are allowed to draw anything
of their choice.
v
Topic for 9th and 10th Std Students
is - “NATURE ”
v
Topic for 11th and 12th Std Students. “ Chennai - 2020 ”
v
Charts for drawing will be provided by us.
v
Students must compulsorily carry School identity card
v
Students are required to
report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

stage would then shift to Mylapore Fine Art Club, Mylapore, Madras 600 004 for the rest of the events to
be held on Sunday, the 29th Jan 2012. The venue is next to Isabel’s Hospital on
Musiri Subramanian Salai [Oliver
Road ].
The
Events on Day 2 would be : Singing
(Carnatic & Film); Quiz (6th to 9th ; 10th to 12th ), Fancy Dress,
Instrumental Fusion and Group dance events.
The
brochures containing all details have already been sent to schools. Our
Secretary R. Sanjeevi is the Programme
coordinator. Request you all to participate and help us in conducting the Fete
in a grand manner. Your suggestions are welcome. Do send them to our email id :

Event No.2. Singing
Competition (Individual Event
- Carnatic Songs) ( 9.00 a.m.)

can send a maximum of 3 entries only.

of 8th to 12th Std are eligible to participate

will start at 9.00 a.m.

Participants
are required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

Event No.3. Singing
Competition: (Film Songs - Individual
Event) : 11.00 am
v
Each School
can send a maximum of 3 entries only.
v
Only students
of 8th to 12th Std are eligible to participate
v
Competition
will start at 9.00 a.m.
v
Participants
are required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
v
Event No. 4. Quiz
Competition (Group Event)
v
This
Competition will be held in Two groups.
Group A – 6th to 9th Std and Group B 10th
to 12th Standard.
v
Each Team
shall consist of 2 students only
v
A school can
send Only one entry per group
v
Preliminary
will be a written round which will be held at 11.00 am
v
From the
Preliminary 4 teams will be selected for the Finals
v
The finals
would be held around 01.00 noon
v
Students are
required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Event No. 5.
Instrumental Fusion (Group
Event) : 02.30 pm
v
Students from
6th Std to 9th Std only are eligible to participate.
v
Each Team
shall consist of 4 students (should not be more or less)
v
A School can
send only one Team
v
Each Team will be allotted a maximum of 10 minutes
only.
v
Students are
required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Event No.6. Dance
Competition (Group Event)

v
This is a competition for students of LKG to V Std.
v
Each team
shall consist of 6 students. (should not be more or less)
v
A School can
send only One Team.
v
Each Team will
be allotted a maximum time of 5 minutes.
v
Students are
required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Event No. 7. Fancy Dress
Competition (Individual Event)
05.00 pm
v
This is an
individual event and there is no restriction of entries per school.
v
Parents can
bring their children direct to the Venue and register.
v
The event will
commence at 05.00 pm and Students are required to report 30 minutes before the
scheduled time.
v
The
competition is restricted to Students of LKg UKg and 1st Standard
only
v
No dialogues /
Verses allowed
v
For ease of
convenience, participating children will come on the stage in batches.
The event will conclude with the Distribution of
Prizes at the hands of our Chief Guest.
The Prize Distribution function
will start at 06.30 pm.
