Traffic Diversions in Anna Salai - Teynampet to Nandanam phase

The traffic changes that has been in place in phase 1 from LIC to Thousand Lights and then from Gemini Fly Over to Teynampet Signal are to get extended to the next phase.

From Saturday, 7^th Apr 12 onwards – there would be further traffic diversions.  The stretch of Anna Salai (Mount Road) from Teynampet / Eldams Road Junction, till Nandanam (Muthu Ramalinga Thevar Statue) would be affected  in this phase.  To enable further work in Metro Rail project, the stretch from Teynampet / Eldams Road Junction till Nandanam would undergo the following changes : -

Vehicles moving in Anna Salai towards Nandanam from Gemini, will continue to ply as they have been without any change.

Those vehicles coming from Saidapet towards Teynampet, will now take a left turn at Nandanam, go in Venkat Narayana Road, turn right towards South Boag road, North Boag road to come to GN Chetty Road (Gopathi Narayana Chetti Road) and then reach Anna Fly over.

Dinamalar quotes Traffic Police as stating that Metropolitan buses would continue to ply on both directions on Anna Salai itself and that they are considering marking a dedicated lane for the buses coming from Nandanam towards Gemini (Anna) fly over.

So more trouble for Chennai residents, as the city gears to have Metro rail project which will help the residents commute places with ease in future.
