Law Minister Salman Khurshid faces trouble - another salvo from Arvind Kejriwal.

One more from the quiver of Arvind Kejriwal – Salman Khurshid faces EOW probe and more trouble.

As could happen in every country, in India, there are poor, suffering to make ends meet – there are some Individuals and Organisations who work selflessly in emancipation of poor. There are some Organisations which make money in the garb of doing service.

A great quote – today’s First Post has it that Press Council Chairman Justice Markandey Katju has urged former Chief Justice of India and National Broadcasting Standard Association (NBSA) chief Justice J S Verma to probe allegations against Law Minister Salman Khurshid as also against India Today group and come out with its report.  Mr Katju has quoted the immortal verses of ‘Bhagwad Gita’ – Chapter 2 : verse 34.
akīrtiḿ cāpi bhūtāni
kathayiṣyanti te 'vyayām
sambhāvitasya cākīrtir
maraṇād atiricyate
[akīrtim — infamy; ca — also; api — over and above; bhūtāni — all people; kathayiṣyanti — will speak; te — of you; avyayām — forever; sambhāvitasya — for arespectable man; ca — also; akīrtiḥ — ill fame; maraṇāt — than death; atiricyate — becomes more.]  Chapter two Shloka 34… where Lord Krishna says to Arjuna :”for a self-respecting man, death is preferable to dishonour.”

Reports confirm that the  Uttar Pradesh Police’s Economic Offences Wing today started collecting documents in connection with its probe into alleged financial irregularities in a trust run by Union Minister Salman Khurshid.

The former IRS Official is doing what once Subrahmanya Swami mastered, training his guns on the so called big and famous, exposing their corrupt deeds.  After firing salvo at Robert Vadra, Arvind Kejriwal, the indefatifable social activist has trained his guns on the Union Minister Salman Khurshid.   Kejriwal was awarded Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006, for activating India's Right to Information movement at grassroots and social activities to empower the poorest citizens to fight corruption by holding the government answerable to the people.  Arvind Kejriwal was always regarded as the mastermind behind the Anna Hazare fever that swept India last year. But he carefully made sure he was not its public face. The face was Anna – reassuringly familiar, old, Gandhian. Kejriwal was the behind-the-scenes bureaucrat-type who worked tirelessly to make it happen.  In the earlier week, it was his tirade against Vadra that was on the cover of virtually all magazines, this week, perhaps it is his fight against the Law Minister.

The allegations are starting to get more serious now. Kejriwal is Today, his protest is continuing at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and he’s still firm on his demand seeking the resignation of the law minister. His allegations are serious in nature and he is challenging the beneficiaries of the schemes funded by Khurshid’s NGO. He says that some names listed as beneficiaries cannot be traced, while other names do not belong to physically challenged people. He also says that there are instances of  individual cases where people who were to benefit from schemes did not receive anything from the NGO. He is vowing to take up the fight against Salman and Louise Khurshid right to their constituency of Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh.

And as is usual, Digvijaya Singh bats for the law Minister, calling him an innocent man.  After the last evening Press conference which turned volatile, Salman and Louise Khurshid have said that they are not going to talk to the media anymore. – whether the Minister stands isolated and disowned by the Party remains to be seen.

Kejriwal  is demanding a probe by a retired Supreme Court judge into the allegations, but said Khurshid should resign and be arrested before any probe alleging “he is a powerful person and that he can pressurise witnesses and erase evidence”.   Firstpost reports that Press Council Chairman Justice Markandey Katju today urged former Chief Justice of India and National Broadcasting Standard Association (NBSA) chief Justice J S Verma to probe allegations against Law Minister Salman Khurshid as also against India Today group and come out with its report.

Elsewhere  Salman Khurshid sought to deny all the allegations and stated that he is struggling for the country and its poor people.
