Aussies bundled out for 241 - Parvez Rassol takes 7 for..

Australians are here ~ sure it is going to be a tough series…. Tour matches are not of great significance – significant for fringe players and those who otherwise would never get an opportunity to brush with International players…… they are primarily intended at helping players acclamatising to conditions; Indians, many times have done poorly on lung openers; happy that Aussies too succumbed to the bug.

Australians lost nine wickets to spin on the first day of their opening tour game in Chennai, but though they were dismissed for 241 their opener and top-scorer Ed Cowan said the team was satisfied with the workout. Jammu & Kashmir offspinner Parvez Rassol, who turns 24 tomorrow, took 7 for 45 for the Board President's XI on a pitch that offered the slow bowlers assistance. And Mumbai Indians might have a spot of bother as their prized catch of 1M – Glenn Maxwell, was the only batsman getting out a medium pacer – Stuart Binny, for a ‘duck’.

Do you remember or connect this photo to Cricket ?  and some connection of Parvez Rasool Zarghav ??

At Chennai Offie, Parvez Rassol,  had a memorable day with figures of 7 for 45 ; great a player for somebody coming from politically torn Jammu & Kashmir.  He is reported to have been acclaimed by Bishan Bedi.  Rassol  has become the first cricketer from his state to be selected in an Indian team to play an international side. Rassol belongs to Bij Behara, a town in the Anantnag district in the south of Kashmir valley.

Australian team is captained by Michael Clarke, but for this match wicket keeper Mat Wade is the Captain.  Rassol took 7 for 45 while S Ladda took 2 for 90.  The Indian Board President Team is captained by young Abhinav Mukund and has Ambati Rayudu, Uthappa.

Now recalling Champions League in Nov. 2009, the match between Victoria and Cape Cobras was delayed  after police detained an Under-22 cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir staying at the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) complex in the Chinnaswamy Stadium in connection with a suspected presence of explosives at the venue. He was released after questioning and, after the police gave the green signal, the match eventually began at 5.40 pm (12.10 GMT) , almost two hours behind schedule, and was reduced to 17 overs a side.  Briefing the media, Bangalore's police commissioner Shankar Bidari was quoted as stating that the police acted on a tip-off on Friday night from the stadium staff: "When the police entered the room, the instruments pointed towards a bag but no explosives were found in it. Even then, as a measure of precaution, we have taken the person possessing the bag into custody. His antecedents are being verified from the Jammu and Kashmir police." ~ and that was Parvez Rassol. Indian forensic officials after scrutiny gave a clean chit to Parvez Rassol.
