I had posted about Vihari, who bowled that
solitary over and took the wicket of Gayle… Sunrisers is a lowly rated team –
old wine Deccan Chargers in a new bottle…. But they have won both their matches
now is the news.
After restricting the much famed RCB to 130,
it should have been easy chasing that… but IPL 6 has already produced some
nail-baiting finishes ~though has been low-scoring thus far. After Gayle’s
exit, Dilshan was all at sea; Kohli and Henriques added runs.
In the chase, Parthiv Patel fell early and so
did White… it was to be Vihari again, he made unbeaten 44 off 46 balls but he
never took the game away from Royal Challengers. He would have expected someone
like his captain Kumar Sangakkara to take the lead but the Sri Lankan batsman
made just 16. The game boiled down to such a finish because of a 23-run stand
for the seventh wicket between Vihari and Ashish Reddy. ~ and it was super over
– Vinaykumar in the earlier versions had been hit all over the park, but he
displayed himself to be an agile fielder – his run out of Amit Mishra caused
the tie and the resultant super over.
In the Super over, it was Sun Risers part to
play first and they opened with Cameron White and Perera – Vinay kumar was the
hapless bowler as White struck two sixers in that one over eliminator – vinay also
bowled an extra delivery. It was 20 –
not a great target thinking Chris Gayle
and Kohli batting ~ solace, Dale Steyn bowling…. First ball 2 runs; 1 off the next; Kohli
struck 4 of the third; 4th a speedy 147 kph – single – 5th
struck Gayle hoists for a six – a single off the last delivery left RCB in
lurch.
Great match and young Hanuma Vihari Man of the
match …..
With regards – S.
Sampathkumar .
