CSK DD match on - Supreme Court directs de-sealing of 3 stands at Chepauk...

The IPL extravaganza is on…… and reaching a feverish pace.. today’s match at Chepauk between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils was muddled in controversy and its fate was reportedly uncertain due to a Court order……..

The Apex Court is burdened with litigations and there is huge pendency.  Going by a bulletin of June 2011,  57,179 cases were pending in the Supreme Court of India…….. while the number of cases pending in the High Courts were 42,17,903 as on 30.9.2010 ~ the information provided in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, by Mr Salman Khurshid, Minister of Law & Justice in the house…. He also informed the House that in order to facilitate expeditious disposal of cases in courts, Government has taken a number of measures.

Today, Supreme Court had another most important case to be heard… yes that of IPL.  First post reports that the Supreme Court has asked the Tamil Nadu government to de-seal the three stands in Chennai’s Chepauk stadium for today’s Indian Premier Leaguematch between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils.

The SC had agreed to give an urgent hearing on Tuesday on the plea of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for de-sealing of three stands in Chennai’s M A Chidambaram Stadium.

The Public Works Department (PWD) officials had earlier withdrawn the stability certificate for all the stands, sources said. Stands I, J and K at the stadium were sealed by the Corporation officials on Sunday.
