the annual secret conference of powerful... Bilderberg Conference

Perhaps not too well known is this village but for this meeting… it is Oosterbeek, in the eastern Netherlands. The hotel in its website claims that with an aromatic cup of coffee, oven-fresh croissant and the morning paper your day will always come off to a good start ~ ordinary things, perhaps some might exclaim…..  

It is the Hotel de Bilderberg.  In 1954 it hosted the first conference initiated by several people, including Polish politician-in-exile Józef Retinger, concerned about the growth of anti-Americanism in Western Europe, who proposed an international conference at which leaders from European countries and the United States would be brought together with the aim of promoting Atlanticism – better understanding between the cultures of the United States and Western Europe to foster cooperation on political, economic, and defense issues. Retinger approached Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands who agreed to promote the idea, together with former Belgian Prime Minister Paul Van Zeeland, and the head of Unilever at that time, Dutchman Paul Rijkens.

Now it is an annual private conference ‘Bilderberg conference’ of 120 to 140 invited guests from North America and Europe, most of whom are people of influence.  It is not without criticism as people say that this is in total contradiction to the commitment of transparency.  When delegates arrived in cars with blacked-out windows at The Grove hotel, protesters heckled their vehicles as they disappeared down the driveway. A  five-metre steel fence has been erected around the £210-per-night hotel and security is so tight that Watford residents are being forced to show passports, driving licences or other ID at police checkpoints. So the Q is - road blocks, police helicopters and blacked-out windows: Who are the bilionaires and politicians arriving for secretive Bilderberg conference at Watford hotel and what do they do there?

The Bilderberg group holds an annual summit to discuss global policy - and this time around it is meeting in Watford, Hertfordshire. This year's guest list of 140 high-ranking figures includes Chancellor George Osborne and his Labour shadow Ed Balls, the CEOs of Google and Amazon as well as royalty from around the world.  In this acclaimed conference, reportedly, no minutes of the meeting are taken and no journalists are allowed inside the secretive four-day event, which counts Tory Cabinet minister Ken Clarke among its organisers. Attendees thought to include politicians, top business executives and royalty; It is thought billionaire executives from multinational companies such as Amazon and Google, high-ranking political figures including Chancellor George Osborne, and even members of royal families are among the 130 or so attendees. Famous for being shrouded in secrecy, the Bilderberg conference is taking place in Britain for the first time since 1998 and conspiracy theorists believe this is where leaders plot world domination.

On a different note, the Wartford Mayor has an objection.  It is the cost of policing the Conference.  Security is naturally high and it is stated that it was "outrageous" local taxpayers were paying for the police operation. Think of our politicians moving around with commandos providing security and rows of vehicles moving in cavalcade
