1st May 2014 has opened on a wrong note for
Chennai, and citizens of India
Sun TV reports of
bomb explosion in compartments of Bangalore – Guwahati Express when it reached
Chennai this morning. The report states that a woman belonging to Guntur was
killed and a few others injured – of whom 2 are grievously injured.
Right now, Central Station reportedly is cordoned off –
it is the time not to spread rumours .......... but only tell people not to
visit Chennai Central unnecessarily ~
and if scheduled for a travel – check on the arrival / departure of trains.
Firstpost reports the explosion to be a minor one and had
reportedly taken place on platform number 9 where the Guwahati express had been
berthed. Initial reports indicate that the explosion may have been aboard the
train. Police teams from across the city have been rushed to the spot trying to
ascertain the exact reason behind the explosion. The railway station has been
shut down for the moment. The injured have been rushed to the nearby Rajiv
Gandhi hospital for treatment.
