Swathi left with
unfinished dreams – brutally cut short for no fault of hers ! Tamilnadu claims to be ‘peace garden’
(amaithi poonga) by Dravidian parties – there is lurking fear that there are
terror groups targetting specific groups creating unrest and more importantly
attacking the social fabric and security of the society ….all allowed to
blossom by the parties for petty gains ~ no, not a petty thing at all – ‘vote
politics’ … you will soon hear voices that terror has no religion – people away
from mainstream will have to be heard … innocent lives can anyway be lost !
Chennai woke up
with a rude shocking news of blasts in Chennai Central on May day.... a young
techie’s life was snatched brutally ... the blast came at a time when Central
intelligence agencies and the Tamil Nadu police claimed to have busted a major
terror network with the arrest of an ISI suspect in Chennai on Tuesday. 37-year-old man of Sri Lankan nationality,
Sakir Hussain, allegedly linked to a Pakistani terror outfit, was picked up in
a joint operation of Central and state police forces. TOI further reports that when some
Urdu-speaking policemen approached S Aladdin (23), a mechanic in Portonovo in
Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu, with a photograph of a bearded man and
inquired whether he had seen him, he thought they were making routine inquiries
due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The next day he woke up to the news
that Ahsraf Ali Khan, a suspected Indian Mujahideen operative, was picked up
from the village mosque.
Away there is
another sad news of at least 12 people were killed and 30 injured when a
passenger train derailed on Konkan Railway route in Maharashtra 's
Raigad district. The accident occurred
just outside a tunnel near Nidi village, when the engine and four out of 20
bogies of Diwa-Sawantwadi passenger train derailed at around 10 am between
Nagothane and Roha railway stations, about 120 kms from Mumbai. Rescue
operations were going on, the police said, adding that workers were trying to
extricate people trapped under bogies that overturned after derailment.
According to Raigad police control room, 12 passengers were killed and 30
injured in the mishap which occurred in a remote area. Following the mishap,
services on Konkan Railway route were suspended. Last month too, a goods train
derailed on the route, affecting services. The injured passengers are being
rushed to Roha for medical treatment, police said. Railways ordered an inquiry
and Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh
for those killed in the accident, Rs 50,000 for the grievously hurt and Rs
10,000 for passengers who suffered minor injuries.
Some more
suspects in the twin bomb blasts in the Kaziranga Express have been identified,
Tamil Nadu Police said today claiming it has got "positive" clues on
the explosions that killed a woman passenger and left 14 others injured. A
careful perusal of CCTV footages at the Chennai Central Station, Bangalore City
Railway station and those between Bangalore
and Chennai has led the CB-CID police, probing the explosion to zero in on some
"positive" leads, a senior official involved in the investigation
said here. A TOI report states that Police are interrogating a man who was
found in one of the compartments of the Bangalore-Guwahati Express. "We
are questioning him on why he was hiding in the compartment," an officer
said. Meanwhile, a member of a bomb squad that visited the spot told a TOI
correspondent that they have recovered a red bag from under a seat that appeared
to have carried the explosive. The train had reached the Chennai Central
railway station at 7.05am on the platform no. 9 and some passengers got down
from the train. Few others going further towards Guwahati stayed back in the
train which was to leave the station at 7.50am.
The injured being
treated at the Government General
Hospital include a
child and a woman. Doctors at the hospital said that four people Sareen, Vimal,
Hari and Anjaneyalu have suffered skin lacerations and would be made to undergo
plastic surgery. The grieving parents from Guntur wept uncontrollably as they collected
the mortal remains of their lovely daughter ….. what was achieved by the
terrorists would remain always Q but more importantly what the Govt at the Central
and State do to take action against such persons not fit to live in a society
would be a bigger Q.
Today,
Monday started with rains and Chennaites in the little inconvenience of rains
and dirt on roads – would slowly forget everything.
