Mitchell McClenaghan was leaking runs and appeared
laughing, even when hit all over the park – finally one of his delivery, Yuvraj went back into the crease to angle the
ball towards the off side, clattered the stumps with his bat while trying to
swing through the line. That really did not matter as Sunrisers Hyderabad 177 for 3 (Dhawan 82*,
Warner 48, Yuvraj 39, Harbhajan 2-29) bea tMumbai Indians 92 (Harbhajan 21,
Nehra 3-15, Mustafizur 3-16) by 85 runs and went on to top the table. It
was a 'home' game for Mumbai Indians, but it was Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose
base is geographically closest to Visakhapatnam, that rode on Shikhar Dhawan's
unbeaten 82 and Ashish Nehra's new-ball burst.
.. and can you link one player in
that SRH line-up to IPC Swimming …
The IPC Swimming World Championships are the world
championships for swimming where athletes with a disability compete. The world record count at the 2016IPC Swimming
European Open Championships rose to 28 on Saturday (7 May), as marks fell to
Ukraine’s Oksana Khrul and Russia’s Valeriia Shabalina on the closing night of
competition in Funchal, Portugal. Shabalina and Great Britain’s Bethany Firth
relished the challenge of taking each other on in the women’s 200m individual
medley SM14, with both women incredibly swimming inside the world record.
The competition is on at Funchal, Portugal. Funchal is the largest city, the municipal
seat and the capital of Portugal's Autonomous Region of Madeira. The city is the
6th largest city in Portugal,
and has been the capital of Madeira for more than five centuries. Because of
its high cultural and historical value, Funchal is one of Portugal's main
tourist attractions. The name is from the Portuguese denotes "a plantation
of fennel".
Portugal is a country on the Iberian Peninsula, in
Southwestern Europe. It is the westernmost country of mainland Europe, being
bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and by Spain.
The Portugal–Spain border is 1,214 km (754 mi) long and considered the
longest uninterrupted border within the European Union. The land within the
borders of current Portugal has been continuously settled, invaded and fought
over since prehistoric times. .. .. ..
and there is a Cricketer from Portugal.
Moises Constantino Henriques, 29, who scored a solitary run for Sunrisers today at Vizag is from Funchal, Portugal –
plays for Australia. The tall all
rounder has so far played 3 Tests; 6 One dayers and 4 T20 internationals. Incidentally, he debuted at Chepauk in the
Border – Gavaskar Tropy in Feb 2013, more remembered for that classy double
century by MS Dhoni. Henriques made 68
and 81 not out and claimed a wicket too.
In the IPC opening ceremony, singer Katia Aveiro,
Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, performed the Portuguese national anthem. "A
Portuguesa" is the national anthem
of Portugal. It was composed by Alfredo Keil and written by Henrique Lopes de
Mendonça during the resurgent nationalist movement ignited by the 1890 British
ultimatum to Portugal concerning its African colonies. Used as the marching
song of the failed republican rebellion of January 1891, in Porto, it was
adopted as the national anthem of the newborn Portuguese Republic in 1911. On
11 January 1890, the United Kingdom issued an ultimatum demanding that Portugal
refrain from occupying land lying between the Portuguese colonies of Angola, on
the west coast of Africa, and Mozambique, on the east coast, thereby forming
one contiguous polity. Despite a popular uproar, the Portuguese government was
forced to accept the U.K.'s demands. This contributed to the unpopularity of
King Carlos I and the monarchy, and it garnered support for the increasingly
popular republican movement in Portugal.
