Chase Me
! is a Chinese reality show broadcast by Zhejiang Television. It is filmed
during the night time in the central business district of Ningbo, involving 2
teams competing to win races.
Reality
television is a genre of television programming that documents purportedly
unscripted real-life situations, often starring unknown individuals rather than
professional actors. Reality television came to prominence in the late 1990s
and the early 2000s with the global successes of the series Survivor, Idols,
and Big Brother, all of which became global franchises. Competition-based
reality shows typically feature gradual elimination of participants, either by
a panel of judges or by the viewership of the show.
To get
a local flavor – ‘Bigg Boss’ an Indian reality
television game show. The first show of
the franchise was Bigg Boss in Hindi which debuted in 2006. The franchise has
extended its presence in Kannada, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Malayalam
as of 2018. I have not seen a single
episode of Big Boss!
Godfrey
Gao was a Taiwanese-Canadian model and
actor. Described as Asia's first male supermodel, Gao was the first male Asian
model to appear in a campaign for Louis Vuitton. As an actor, he was known for
his roles as Magnus Bane in the 2013 film adaptation of The Mortal Instruments:
City of Bones, and for his leading role in the Chinese television series Remembering
Lichuan. .. .. .. he is no more! died
while the shooting was on? ~ the final footage of supermodel Godfrey Gao showed
him struggling to run and appearing exhausted moments before he died from a
heart attack on the set of a reality TV show in China. Sad .. .. the actor Godfrey, died aged 35 while filming TV show Chase Me in
Ningbo, China on 27th Nov 2019. After reports emerged the star had filmed for
17 hours straight before his death, a clip from the programme showed him
'struggling to run' in the final minutes before he collapsed and went into
cardiac arrest.
In the clip, posted
on Chinese social media site Weibo, Godfrey, clad in the show's signature blue
and black jumpsuit with neon lights jogs, slowly down a street. Looking
fatigued, he then slows down before reaching an incline and bends over as
he uses his arm to pull himself up the
ramp. Head down, Godfrey struggles to walk up the ramp before reaching the top
and walking out of camera shot. That is the death of the star @26. Sina reports
that Godfrey was unwell with a cold before taking part but filmed 'continuously'
for 17 hours- from 8.30am on Tuesday, November 26 to 1.45am, before collapsing
on set. It was also claimed by his friends he attended an event on the Monday
and travelled straight to filming Chase Me without taking a rest day.
In every Reality show,
the contestants do work their way through a series of physically demanding
obstacle courses and in the Chinese show, it was an urban race style setting. According to China's Tencent News, an
audience member heard Gao shout 'I can't keep going' as he slowed down in the
race before he collapsed. Cameramen are
said to have initially zoomed in on Godfrey, believing his fall was a dramatic
moment in the reality show before realising something was wrong and getting
emergency care for the star. A statement from the TV network said the actor and
model was taken to hospital where it was confirmed he died as a result of a
cardiac arrest.
.. ..
we may never know the super model but sympathise with the way he died, taking
onerous pressure getting filmed his last moments of life !! ~ if you thought this was cruel, read more of
an injured seal pup that washed up on a
beach but died after hoards of selfie-hunters
forced it to flee back into the sea.
The grey seal,
which ended up on Chesil Beach in Dorset, had suffered serious injuries to one
of its flippers caused by a fishing line that had cut into its bone. It
returned to the water after becoming scared by members of the public who
crowded around to take pictures - preventing rescuers from reaching it. The
animal came ashore a second-time hours later at dusk when most people had left
when someone spotted it and called the RSPCA. Derek Davey, a local wildlife expert, took
care of the seal before it was transferred to the RSPCA's centre at West Hatch,
Somerset, where it later died. Mr Davey criticised onlookers who scared the
pup, explaining that while it probably would have died anyway its pain was
prolonged by the delay in it being rescued.
'Taking
photographs and crowding around it made it go back into the water to get away,'
he said. 'Luckily it later came ashore again hours later. Yet, the seal which somehow reached the
shore on Chesil Beach - was forced to
return to the water after becoming scared by members of the public who crowded
around to take pictures!
When it returned
again, RSPCA attended to it and said the
seal was in an 'emaciated condition' and had an infection in its bones. A
spokesman for the charity said: 'The wildlife vet cleaned the wound out but the
infection was already in the bone and so the decision was made to put the seal
to sleep based on the extent of this injury and the impact it would have on the
future of the seal.
Sad !
