பறவைகள் !  - கோப்பால் !!  -    சினிமா!!! – Chase a Crooked Shadow !!!! 

நாயகன்  பெரிய  பணக்காரர் . எஸ்டேட்  ஓனர் , பங்களா எல்லாம் கொண்டவர். உல்லாச கப்பல்   பயணத்தில்  நாயகியை  சந்திக்கிறார், கூட அவரது அப்பாவும் இருக்கிறார். . பழக்கம்  ஆனதும்  தன்   பங்களாவுக்கு   தங்கிச்செல்ல  இருவரையும்  அழைக்கிறார். .. .. ..காதல் மயக்கத்தில் உள்ள ஹீரோ ஹீரோயினுக்கு நடுவில் ஒரு பிளவு - அது ஹீரோவின் பழைய கதை  .. அவர் திருமணமானவர் !!  - அந்த பெண்ணோ ஒரு காவல் அதிகாரி !!  -  என்ன சினிமா தெரியுமா ???

பறப்பன - பறவைகள் !!  பறவைகள் அழகானவை !!  தமிழ் சினிமாவில் காதலன் காதலி சந்திக்கும் சீனில், கிளி, புறா, மயில் இன்ன பிற பறக்கும்.  நாயகிகள்  பறவைகளை ஆசையாக வளர்க்கும் அன்புள்ளம் கொண்டவர்கள் -  மாரி  போன்ற சில சினிமாக்களில் கதாநாயகன் புறா, சேவல்,   மற்ற பறவைகளை வளர்ப்பார்.  நாயகனுக்கும் நாயகிக்கும் இடையே தூதுவிடும் வேலையை பறவைகள் செய்யும்.  

நிற்க !  எல்லா பறவைகளும் பறக்க மாட்டா !!  ஈமு, பென்குவின், நெருப்புக்கோழி என சில பறக்காத பறவைகளும் உண்டு !!     இறக்கைகள் கொண்ட இருகாலி'யைப் பறவை எனலாம். .  முன்னங்கால்கள் அல்லது கைகள் போல் முன் உறுப்புகளாய் இறகுகளால் ஆன சிறகுகள் இருத்தலும், பறப்பதற்குத் துணையாக காற்றறைகள் கொண்ட இலேசான, எலும்புகள் கொண்டிருப்பதும் பறவைகளின் தனிச் சிறப்பியல்புகள்.    விலங்குகளிலேயே இறகுகள் உள்ள ஒரே வகுப்பு பறவைகள்தான்.   

One of the requirements for heavier-than-air flying machines is a structure that combines strength with light weight. This is true for birds as well as planes. Birds have many physical features, besides wings, that work together to enable them to fly. They need lightweight, streamlined, rigid structures for flight. The four forces of flight – weight, lift, drag and thrust – affect the flight of birds.  

Birds fly by flapping their wings, steering mainly with their tails. Compared to the parts of an airplane, a bird’s wing acts as both wing and propeller. The basal part of the wing supplies most of the supporting surface, the wing tip most of the propelling force. A bird’s wing has many adjustable features: it can be shortened or lengthened by flexion; the feathers of the tip can be spread or closed; the angle of the whole wing or its parts—on one side or both—can be altered. All of these adjustments make the aerodynamics of a bird’s wing much more complicated than those of the airplane; consequently, the flight of a bird is much more varied and adaptable.  

Flight is a unique adaptation at the core of many behaviours in most bird species, whether it be foraging, migration or breeding. Birds have developed a wide diversity of flight modes (e.g. flapping, gliding, soaring, hovering) which involves very specialized behaviours.   

முதல் பாராவில் விவரிக்கப்பட்ட படம் -  சிவாஜி கணேசன், சரோஜா தேவி  நடித்த "புதிய பறவை " தாதா மிராசி இயக்கத்தில் 1964ல் வெளிவந்தது. சிவாஜி ‘லத்தா... லத்தா’ என்று லதாவைச் சொல்லுவதும், சரோஜாதேவி ‘கோப்பால் கோப்பால்’ என்று பேசியதும் பின்னாளில் கோப்பால்’ பெரிய மீம் ஆனது.  

May not have heard of - Chase a Crooked Shadow (a.k.a. Sleep No More)- a film released in 1958, starring Richard Todd, Anne Baxter and Herbert Lom. Michael Anderson directed Chase a Crooked Shadow, the first film produced by Associated Dragon Films, a business venture of Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Chase a Crooked Shadow was remade in India a few times, as the Bengali-language film Sesh Anka (1963), the Tamil-language film Puthiya Paravai (1964), the Hindi-language film Dhuan (1981), and the Malayalam-language films 'Rahasyam,' Prem Naseer starrer, 'Ithile Vannavar' of Madhu and Charithram (1989)
