Oh my Bulbul Tara !!

போட்ட புல் புல் தாரா -  ஓஸிபீஸா ஒடிசி டான்சா

இந்த பாடலை நான் இன்று தான் முதன்முதலாக கேட்டேன். 

Bulbul is a name often heard !! without knowing its meaning.  The bulbuls are members of a family, Pycnonotidae, of medium-sized passerine songbirds.   The family is distributed across most of Africa and into the Middle East, tropical Asia to Indonesia, and north as far as Japan. The  African species are predominantly found in rainforest, whereas Asian bulbuls are predominantly found in more open areas.  

The red-whiskered bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus), or crested bulbul, is a passerine bird native to Asia.   It is a resident frugivore found mainly in tropical Asia. It has been introduced in many tropical areas of the world where populations have established themselves. It has a loud three or four note call, feeds on fruits and small insects and perches conspicuously on trees. It is common in hill forests and urban gardens.  

The red-whiskered bulbul was formally described by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1758 in the tenth edition of his Systema Naturae under the binomial name Lanius jocosus  

Bulbul tarang (literally "waves of nightingales"),  is a string instrument from Punjab which evolved from the Japanese taishōgoto, which likely arrived in South Asia in the 1930s.  The instrument employs two sets of strings, one set for drone, and one for melody.    

முதலில் குறிப்பிட்ட பாடல் வரிகள் - 2003ல் வெளிவந்த அரசு படத்தில் இடம் பெற்று இருந்தது. சரத்குமார் சிம்ரன் நடித்த படம். பாப் ஷாலினி பாடியவர். இசை மணி சர்மா. தமிழ் சினிமாவில், 1950 -- 1965 கால கட்டத்தில், 'புல்புல் தாரா' எனும் இசைக்கருவியின் பங்களிப்பு அதிகம் இருந்தது.  சிறிய அளவிலான கீ போர்டில், கம்பியை வைத்து இசைப்பது போன்ற கட்டமைப்பில் இருக்கும் இக்கருவியை, தற்போது வாசிப்பவர்கள் அதிகம் இல்லை போல உள்ளது.
