A post on something ‘must’ in Bhajans – Germanic ones are the thickest, Vienest are middle weighing, French are the lightest !!  - wonder what ?? 

அருவியின் சலசலப்பில் வெண்ணிற ஆடை மங்கையர் சீராக ஆட, ஜென்சி, பி வசந்தா குரலில், கங்கை அமரனின் வரிகளில் இசைஞானி இளையராஜாவின் இன்னிசையில் புதிய வார்ப்புகள் படம் ஞாபகம் வருகிறதா ! - பாக்கியராஜின் இந்த படம் வெளி வந்த வருஷம் 1979. 

தம்தன நம்தன தாளம் வரும்; புது ராகம் வரும் பல பாவம் வரும்

அதில் சந்தன மல்லிகை வாசம் வரும் ;

மணமாலை வரும் சுப வேளை வரும்;

மணநாள் திருநாள் புதுநாள் உன்னை அழைத்தது 

தாளம் இசையில் கால அளவுகளை ஒழுங்கு முறையில் அமைப்பதற்கு பயன்படுவது ஆகும். கர்நாடக இசையில் தாளங்கள் ஏழு வகைகளாக உள்ளன. இவற்றை சப்த தாளங்கள் என்றும் கூறுவர். சப்தம் என்பது வடமொழியில் ஏழு என்று பொருள்படும். "பாட்டின் கால அளவை சேர்த்து கையினாலாவது, வேறு கருவிகளினாலாவது தட்டுவது தாளமெனப்படும். இத்தாளத்தின் உற்பத்தியானது காலம், செய்கை, அளவு என்ற மூன்று முக்கியமான அம்சங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. இம்மூன்றும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து இருக்கும் போதுதான் தாளத்தின் உற்பத்தி உண்டாகின்றது. 

கர்நாடக இசைக்கச்சேரியின் பிரதான உருப்படி ராகம் தானம் பல்லவி.  அனுலோமம், பிரதிலோமம் கர்நாடக இசை கச்சேரியில் ராகம் தானம் பல்லவி உருப்படியின் முத்தாய்ப்பு அங்கங்கள்.  நிச்சமயாக என்போன்ற் ஞான சூன்யங்களுக்கு இவை ஒன்றும் தெரியாது, பாடலை ரசித்தால் கையால் தாளம் போடுவோம்.  சின்-சக்  என்று  ஜால்ரா அடிப்பது  !! சிலருக்கு மட்டுமே கைவந்த கலை. 

 

ஜால்ரா, பெயர்ச்சொல்லுக்கு  : கைத்தாள இசைக் கருவி. இரு கைகளிலு ஏந்தப்படும் தட்டுகளை ஒன்றோடு ஒன்று மோதுவதால் இசை உருவாகும் கருவி  மற்றும் புகழுரைப்பவர், பசப்புபவர் (பேச்சு வழக்கு) என்று அர்த்தங்கள் உண்டு. 

 

Cymbals have existed since ancient times. Representations of cymbals have been found in reliefs and paintings from Armenian Highlands, Larsa, Babylon, Assyria, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and ancient Rome.  In India, cymbals have been in use since ancient times and are still used across almost all major temples  especially in Bakthi music – bhajans, Nama Sankeerthanam.  

A cymbal is a common percussion instrument. Often used in pairs, cymbals consist of thin, normally round plates of various alloys. The majority of cymbals are of indefinite pitch, although small disc-shaped cymbals based on ancient designs sound a definite note.  Cymbals are used in many ensembles ranging from the orchestra, percussion ensembles, jazz bands, heavy metal bands, and marching groups. A player of cymbals is known as a cymbalist. 

The word cymbal is derived from the Latin cymbalum,  which is the latinisation of the Greek word κύμβαλον kymbalon, "cymbal", which in turn derives from κύμβη kymbē, "cup, bowl".
