Save Hangul Deer ! - கொடியது கேட்கின் !?!

சில நேரங்களில்,  கண்ணில் படும் சில விஷயங்கள் - 'கொடுமை' என கூற வைக்கும் !!  ~  today’s post is on Hangul, more on the nameboard seen in  Tholkappiya Poonga – Adyar Eco park ! 

சோழ மன்னன் ஒரு  நாள்  தனது அவைக்களப் புலவர்களை அழைத்து, ‘நாளை பொழுது விடிவதற்குள் நீங்கள் நாலு கோடி பாடல்கள் பாட வேண்டும்’ என்று ஆணையிட்டான். ஓர் இரவுக்குள் நாலு கோடி பாடல்களை எப்படிப் பாடுவது என்று அவைக்களப் புலவர்கள் திகைத்தனர்.  அங்கே  வந்த ஒளவையார் - ‘இதற்காகவா திகைத்தீர்கள். கவலை வேண்டாம். இப்போதே நாலு கோடி பாடலைப் பாடுகிறேன்; மன்னனிடம் சென்று அதைப் பாடுங்கள்’ என்று கூறிவிட்டு ஒரே ஒரு பாடலை மட்டும் பாடினார். ஒரு பாடல் = நாலு கோடி பாடலுக்கு இணையானது  

அவ்வையார் முருகனிடத்தில் அபார பக்தி கொண்டவர்.  முருக பெருமான் அவ்வையை சோதிக்க சிறுவன வேடத்தில் வந்து, அசதியால் களைத்திருந்த அவ்வையிடம் "பாட்டி, உங்களுக்கு சுட்ட பழம் வேண்டுமா ! சுடாத பழம் வேண்டுமா?  என வினவ - ஒளவையாரின் மனத்திலிருந்த புலமைக் கர்வம் அகன்றது; நெஞ்சில் அமைதி குடி கொண்டது.  ஒளவையாரைப் பார்த்து முருகன், ‘ஒளவையே உமது அமுதத் தமிழைக் கேட்கவும் சில ஐயங்களுக்குத் தெளிவு பெறவுமே நான் வந்தேன். எனது ஐயங்களைத் தங்கள் அன்பு மொழியால் போக்குங்கள்’ என்றான்.  ‘முருகா! நீ அறியாதது எதுவும் உண்டா? நீ சாமிநாதனாக இருந்து உன் தந்தைக்கே மந்திரம் சொன்னவன் அப்பா! உனது ஐயத்தைப் போக்கும் பெருமை என் தமிழுக்குக் கிடைக்கட்டும்’ என்றார் ஒளவையார்.  

முருகன் கொடியது, இனியது, பெரியது, அரியது எவை என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு ஒளவையார் விடையாக பாடல்களைப் பாடினார்.  கொடியது என ஒவ்வை கூறியது -   அன்பில்லாதவளோடு  குடித்தனம் நடத்துவது போல   கொடியது உலகில் வேறு எதுவுமே கிடையாது

 

Hangul, (Korean: “Great Script”) also spelled Hangeul or Han’gŭl, is alphabetic system used for writing the Korean language. The system, known as Chosŏn muntcha in North Korea, consists of 24 letters (originally 28), including 14 consonants and 10 vowels. The consonant characters are formed with curved or angled lines. The vowels are composed of vertical or horizontal straight lines together with short lines on either side of the main line.

This is on Hangul – ‘Kashmir stag’  (Cervus hanglu hanglu),   a subspecies of Central Asian red deer endemic to Kashmir and surrounding areas. It is found in dense riverine forests in the high valleys and mountains of Jammu and Kashmir and northern Himachal Pradesh. In Kashmir, it is found primarily in the Dachigam National Park where it receives protection, and elsewhere it is more at risk. In the 1941s, the population was between 3000 and 5000 individuals, but since then habitat destruction, over-grazing by domestic livestock and poaching have reduced population dramatically. 

This deer has a light rump patch without including the tail. Its coat color is brown with a speckling to the hairs. The inner sides of the buttocks are greyish white, followed by a line on the inner sides of the thighs and black on the upper side of the tail. Each antler consists of five tines. A decline in the population of Kashmir’s iconic wildlife species, is a concern as conservation efforts for the deer, going on for years, have not yielded much results.

அதனினும் கொடிது இளமையில் வறுமை

அதனினும் கொடிது அன்பிலாப் பெண்டிர்

அதனினும் கொடிது

இன்புற அவர்கையில் உண்பது தானே.
