Do you have fears ! - fear of failure !!

Expressions of children are priceless !  - often kids express their feelings beautifully and fearlessly.  Most of us have  stumbled and fallen  in life. Doors got  slammed in our faces, and for sure we took some  bad decisions.

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. It causes an overwhelming sense of fear about an object, situation or event. The fear might seem irrational to others, but the person with the phobia feels genuinely scared, threatened and at risk.

As we grow – we tend to pick up more tensions and stresses – not necessarily life is throwing them all at us.  Many of them are our own creations (some Pak journo kicked up a stir writing and then asking what is wrong in stating ‘one’s own wife!’) – there would be fear of unknown, fear of future, fear of failure and more !

Atychiphobia is an intense fear of failure. It comes from the Greek word “atyches,” meaning "unfortunate.”  It may cause you to put off or avoid any activity or scenario that has the potential for an unsuccessful outcome. People  with this condition would be scared to try new things, take risks or embrace growth for fear of failure.

Fear of failure can lead to a broad range of emotional and psychological problems, including shame, depression, anxiety, panic attacks or low self-esteem. It may negatively affect how you perform at school or work, or how you interact with friends and family members. Atychiphobia and perfectionism have some similarities, but they’re different conditions.

It's almost impossible to go through life without experiencing some kind of failure. People who do so probably live so cautiously that they go nowhere. Put simply, they're not really living at all.  But, the wonderful thing about failure is that it's entirely up to us to decide how to look at it. We can choose to see failure as "the end of the world," or as proof of just how inadequate we are. Or, we can look at failure as the incredible learning experience that it often is.

It's important to realize that in everything we do, there's always a chance that we'll fail. Facing that chance, and embracing it, is not only courageous – it also gives us a fuller, more rewarding life.  It can certainly be disappointing, but it is important to maintain a healthy perspective toward the potential benefits of failing from time to time. Remember that success is often reached through a series of progressive failures that lead to new information, skills, and strategies.

.. .. .. and the lesson learnt by this thinker is :  ‘it is so easy to advise people to embrace failures and not worry about it’ but is almost impossible to practice!
