Something
on Tshirts and .. .. on a pet owner protecting his dog !
IPL is the biggest
brand ! – when there is a match Chepauk stadium turns yelloweee ! thousands of CSK jersey Tshirts – genuine ones
costing few thousands and ordinary ones at few hundreds are sold – almost everyone
entering the stadium is clad in Yellow and most of them sport Dhoni’s No. !!
Sure, you too have a big array of Tshirts in your wardrobe. A T-shirt or tee shirt is a kind of shirt which has short sleeves. These sleeves cover the shoulders and the top of the arm, but they do not cover the elbow or the forearm. T-shirts are usually made from cotton fabric or fabric which contains a mix of cotton and polyester. T-shirts are usually considered a casual type of clothing. Both men and women wear T-shirts
Is that a misnomer?, if Tshirts have a tee collar, most of them do not – and are round necked !! A round-neck T-shirt with short sleeves and no buttons is known as a crew-neck T-shirt. The crew-neck t-shirt is a timeless wardrobe essential that enjoys a degree of indispensability in the modern man's wardrobe. It is incredibly comfortable and incredibly versatile.
The modern T-shirt came from 1800s underwear. Workers wore them in hot places for comfort. In 1913, the U.S. Navy introduced T-shirts as underwear. They became popular with sailors, workers, and young boys because they were easy to wear and cheap. By the 1920s, the term "T-shirt" was in the American dictionary. During the Great Depression, T-shirts were common work clothes. After World War II, Navy men wore them casually. Their popularity grew in the 1950s, especially after actor Marlon Brando wore one. Soon, they became everyday wear for many. By 1942, some T-shirts had prints on them and years later, people liked using printed T-shirts to express themselves, advertise, protest, or as keepsakes.
What is now hotly debated is that the t-shirt and jeans cost the Earth 2,200 gallons of water, enough to fill a small tanker truck? The production of cotton-textiles uses up large amounts of resources, such as water and energy, as well as releasing byproducts of starch, paraffin, dyes, pesticides and other harmful pollutants into the air and soil -- under regular conditions.
Each year, over two
billion t-shirts are sold worldwide and 520 million pairs of jeans are sold in
the U.S. With the production of one t-shirt reportedly using up 700 gallons of water and one pair of
jeans using up 1,500 gallons, it is easy to understand why the call to curb
textile waste is urgent. One newspaper report
states that a Levi's plant in El Paso, TX uses 15% of the city's water supply.
In a study by Levi's, researchers found that manufacturing one pair of jeans
requires 400 mega joules of energy, and expels 71 pounds of carbon dioxide. The
amount of carbon dioxide emitted to produce one pair of jeans is equivalent to
driving 78 miles. You walk to work to reduce your carbon footprint, but every
undershirt you buy sets you back 20 miles, says the report.
Moving away, when
it turns cold, some pet owners ingenuously try protecting their pets. Here is a dog owner providing a tshirt to his fond dog !!
