Happy when our Growth Student remembers us with gratitude !!

 

கற்றதனால் ஆய பயனென்கொல்  எனும் திருக்குறள் - கடவுள் வாழ்த்து அதிகாரத்தில் 2ம் பாடலாக அமைத்துள்ளார் செந்நாப்போதார் எனும் திருவள்ளுவர். 

ஆகிய என்பதன் விகாரமே ஆய!! . ஆகிய என்பதில் இருந்த கி இல்லாமல் போய், அதாவது குறுகி ஆய என்றாகியிருப்பதால் இதற்கு குறுக்கல் விகாரம் என்று பெயர்.  என்கொல் -- என்ன என்பது தான் இதற்கான அர்த்தம். கொல் என்பது ஓர் அசைச்சொல். அதற்குப் பொருளில்லை!!!. 

SYMA has been in the forefront of social welfare activities since 1977.  We run a Medical centre providing free consultation and medicine, charging a token Rs.2/-  We run a Medical analytical lab where charges are very nominal.  From 2008, we have been running providing quality educational support through our SYMA Growth helping 100+ students of X & +2 every year.  SYMA has been doing service without seeking any recompense, yet whenever we are remembered, it makes us very happy. 

Conducting Competitions is an uphill task.  Srinivas Youngmens’ Association (SYMA) Triplicane has been conducting Childfest, for more than two decades now. Goldwinner SYMA Childfest 2025 is to take place at NKT National College of Education premises at Triplicane on 8^th & 9^th of Feb 2025.  There 10 competitions for students from L.Kg to X11 standard. 

The onerous task begins with keeping things ready and ensuring cleanliness of the location.  This year Urbaser Sumeet has been of great help in cleaning the premises and preparing it for the competitions where around 4000 students from 125 Educational institutions are expected to participate.  

This morning at the venue, this cheerful Supervisor of Urbaser Sumeet was actively engaged in ensuring cleaning of debris and waste material. His enthusiasm, smile and cheerful attitude attracted me.

 

Upon conversation, Fayaz (the man in the middle) told us that he studied in our Tuition Centre in 2015 and recalled with gratitude the educational assistance given by SYMA. After completion of education and honing his skills in various fields, he has chosen his career and now works for Urbaser.  He further added that upon hearing of the Childfest, he (though attached to a different area), voluntarily took up this task in this  area and is now involved in ensuring cleanliness through his agency.  

Not a small act ! – someone remembering  our service,  with gratitude after  almost a decade !! People like Fayaz makes us at SYMA rededicate to the Society and continue our Social welfare activities with renewed vigour. 

As years pass by, age may wither individuals but not the indomitable spirit of serving the society.  Thanks Fayaz, thanks hundreds of unnamed warriors to daily work for the betterment of society.
